Cake + Cupcake Guide

Here you will find helpful information as well as tips and tricks about our cakes, tarts and cupcakes regarding transport, storage and portioning 🎂❤️


+++ CONDITION + UNWRAPPING AFTER POSTAL DELIVERY+++

We ship our freshly prepared CHEESECAKES and COOKIE CAKES frozen. The cakes may thaw partially or completely during transport.

CHEESECAKE
Remove the cheesecake from the foil wrapper and place it on your desired serving dish in the refrigerator to thaw. If you need it ready to eat quickly, let it thaw at room temperature.

COOKIE CAKE
Allow the cookie cake to thaw at room temperature in the packaging or on your desired serving dish.



+++ STORAGE +++

You can store your MERINGUE BUTTERCREAM CAKE / CUPCAKES at room temperature for up to 2 days or in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

CHEESECAKE
and CAKE/ CUPCAKES WITH CREAM CHEESE FROSTING (like Red Velvet) must always be kept in the refrigerator and will also keep for up to 4 days in the refrigerator.

You can store COOKIE CAKE at room temperature for up to 3 days.


+++ RECOMMENDATION +++

Our cakes and cupcakes are made without artificial preservatives, so we recommend eating them as soon as possible to enjoy them to the fullest.



+++ TRANSPORT +++

Our cakes and cupcakes are delivered to you in cake box, which will ensure that the cake / cupcakes reach its destination safely. Please ensure that the box is always placed horizontally and on a stable surface during transportation.

Transport by car

Option 1:
Place the box on the floor of the passenger seat and push the seat forward so that the box is slightly (!) fixed and cannot slide back and forth.

Option 2:
passenger holds the box on their lap. There should be an extra layer (jacket, blanket, etc.) between lap and box so that it is not warmed up by body heat. Please turn off the heating in the car as much as possible, especially in the area where the box is.

Transport by bus/train
We do NOT recommend this, as it does not guarantee constantly steady and horizontal transport of the box.



+++ SERVING +++

Always allow the chilled cake / cupcakes to come to room temperature before serving.

Cupcakes + small cakes:
2 hrs prior
Cheesecakes: 
1 hr prior
Large + tall cakes:
4 hrs prior

In the (unlikely) event that there is any leftover, you can cut the cake it into ready-made portions and freeze them as well as the cupcakes. See tips below.



+++ SUNLIGHT AND HEAT +++

Please ensure at all times that the cake / cupcakes are never exposed to the sun and that there is no heat source nearby.



+++ CUTTING / PORTIONING +++

With these instructions you will portion cakes like a pro!




+++ FREEZING +++

Buttercream cakes and cupcakes will keep in the freezer for up to 3 months.

1. Firstly put the leftovers in the refrigerator for several hours in order for the buttercream to firm up.

2a. Then double wrap each portion separately in plastic wrap. Make sure there is enough space in the freezer so the pieces don't get crushed when frozen.

2b. Another option is to wrap the leftover pieces only once and then store them in an airtight container in the freezer.


+++ DEFROSTING +++

Remove the desired cake pieces / cupcakes from the freezer and let them thaw completely at room temperature before serving. The smaller the pieces, the faster it will go!
